Wacom’s Refreshed Intuos Pen Tablet is a Cheap Choice for Photo Editing
Wacom has introduced its newly refreshed Intuos pen tablet. If you’re a photographer in search of an affordable drawing tablet for photo editing, the Intuos is one you may want to take a look at.
Accuracy has been improved in this latest model, which has a +/- 0.25mm digital tolerance. The battery-free pen features EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) technology and has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. It also has a 7mm reading height.
Spare Felt and Flex nibs can be stored within the pen itself.
The Intuos measures 8.8mm thin — about the same thickness as your average smartphone — and it comes in two sizes: a 7-inch active area in the Small size and a 10-inch area in the Medium model.
Over 75% of the tablet’s width is the active area. The density of the tablet is 100 lines per mm recognition of pen on tablet. Both ergonomics and weight have been improved compared to the previous iteration.
And if you purchase the Intuos, you get about $160 worth of creative software bundled with it. In addition to Corel Painter Essentials 6 for design/illustration and Celsys Clip Studio Paint Pro for comic/Manga, you’ll be able to download Corel AfterShot 3 for RAW photo editing.
Other features of the Intuos include a built-in pen tray, four express keys, an LED indicator, and three color choices (charcoal black, pistachio green, and berry pink).
The Wacom Intuos is available now from the Wacom website for $79 for the standard Small unit, $99 for the Bluetooth Small unit, and $199 for the Bluetooth Medium unit.
